Sue Werkheiser
was born and raised in Stroudsburg, Pa. Upon graduation
from Stroudsburg High school she began working at Mountain
Manor Inn and Golf Course, beginning a career that has
lasted 41 yrs. In 1965 she attended East Stroudsburg State
Teachers College (now East Stroudsburg University) where
she received a B.S. in Health and Physical Education. She
coached basketball at Keystone Junior for a season and
also Lourdesmont High School for a season. In 1971, she
graduated from Marywood University, earning her Masters in
Secondary Counseling.
In 1974, Sue joined the
LPGA Membership and embarked on a career as a Golf
Professional at Mt. Manor. As a member of the Northeast
section for the past 34 years, she as attained Master
status and has served the Section as a Points Chairperson,
Area Representative and Past President. She was honored
at the 50th
Anniversary of the LPGA
with a brick on the Walk of Champions for her service to
the LPGA. She currently serves on the Extended Committee
as the Lay Representative for the Northeast Section.
